Taylor Casey, a 41-year-old trans woman has still not been found after disappearing in the Bahamas near Paradise Island on June 19.
She arrived from Chicago, Illinois to attend a yoga retreat at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Retreat Center, but there is no record of her, baffling family members and friends.
According to sources, her cellphone pinged on a beach and her friend Sara confirmed that the cell phone was found, but there was no sight of Casey.
As Bahamas police continue to investigate her disappearance while issuing a missing person bulletin, friends from the transgender community in the US are coordinating a search effort in the Bahamas and reaching out to Bahamians to help locate missing Casey.
Loved ones are hoping to gather support from all of her friends since she has a “big footprint” in the trans community in Chicago.

Friends said they scanned images and videos of the Bahamas retreat group and have not seen Casey in the photos or videos.
Raquel Ramotar is acquainted with the area where Casey was last thought to be and remembers it as private property but dangerous and treacherous.
“That place should be investigated. The ocean in the back of that retreat is a mystery. It is breathtaking but when you walk into it, the drop below is deep and the sand sinks. I also [smell] a stench as you walk past the retreat and the homes surrounding it.”
Niece Traysia Conrad said her aunt went on the yoga retreat on June 2 and she last heard from her just the day before her mysterious disappearance.
“We believe she may be in danger and we need help bringing her home safely,” Emily Raquel a friend of Casey lamented.
Casey is an African-American with a light brown complexion, and long, dark hair, and she wears glasses. She is described as 5’10 with brown eyes and is slenderly built.
Friends have established an Instagram page findtaylorcasey to bring awareness to the woman’s disappearance.
