The gun violence in the capital showed no signs of easing over the weekend with 2 dead and 4 shot over the weekend alone.

The shootings took place in various areas of Nassau, following weeks of unrelenting homicides.

Friday afternoon

The week began with a shooting around 4 pm on Friday, near Marathon Road when a 24-year-old man was shot in the upper body while driving.

Police say occupants of a small Japanese model vehicle shot into the gray Honda vehicle driven by the 24-year-old, resulting in the driver losing control of the vehicle and hitting a white vehicle which subsequently crashed into a motorcycle.

The man is receiving medical care.

Police are continuing their investigations into the matter.

Saturday morning

On Saturday around 11 am, authorities investigated the murder of 38-year-old Courtney Bellot who was found shot to death in a car in the Yamacraw Beach Estates area.

Authorities said the man was driving a black Honda vehicle when a Japanese vehicle with about four men fired at the victim with high-powered weapons. The man died on the scene.

The vehicle was found riddled with gunshots and the victim, still inside, sustained multiple gunshot injuries to his body.

He was reportedly known to the police.

Saturday evening

Around 7:30 pm that evening, two men, ages 19 and 33 were shot by gunmen while at a residence on Quarry Mission Road.

The men were reportedly outside when men from a white Japanese vehicle emerged and discharged gunshots in their direction.  The 33-year-old was shot in the abdomen and the 19-year-old was shot in the left arm.

Both survived but one of the victims remains in critical condition, police say.

Sunday morning

A man in his late 20s or early 30s was killed in Nassau Village around 7 am when he arrived at a residence on Matthew Street.

Authorities said he was shot multiple times to the body and crashed into a fence at the residence.

Police believe occupants of a Japanese vehicle armed with high-powered weapons, killed him before fleeing.

Police are still investigating the matter.

Sunday afternoon

A 55-year-old man was shot and is in hospital after gunmen attacked him around 4 pm in the Yellow Elder area.

He was reportedly standing outside his residence when gunmen exited a Japanese vehicle and shot him in the thigh and hand.

Police say they are continuing to investigate the incident.
