The sister of the 16-year-old shot to death in her home around midnight Saturday, came to her defense, proclaiming her innocence.

“Please stop making up fake narratives.

“Please stop trying to paint something that’s not,” Davianna Gray, 17, urged in a social media post which was a response to some who attempted to sully her sister’s reputation and create a narrative for the shooting incident.

Davinique ‘Susie’ Gray was in her home on Lawton Avenue, Nassau Village reportedly charging her phone, when someone passing the house, fired gunshots, which penetrated the walls of the house, striking her.

She was pronounced dead.

Some members of the public have attempted to find a motive for the crime though police have not given any more details on the homicide.

Davinique and Davianna’s father, David Gray was killed by a gunman on December 22, 2021.

The RM Bailey student died one day after their father’s birthday and two weeks after he succumbed, two years ago.

“My daddy and my sister were both innocent. Never connected with nothing so I don’t know what yall talking about…My sister got killed for nothing.

“My daddy got killed three days before Christmas. I don’t know how I gone live.”

Police continue to search for the unknown assailants and have since asked the public for assistance in bringing them to justice.

Davianna lamented, “I swear that was all I had left. I can’t take this. I can’t live.”
