His response comes after health officials expressed uncertainty on the new arrivals COVID-19 test results
Turnquest told a local daily, the Tribune that the ninety workers who arrived in the Bahamas for construction of the Baker’s Bay Project in Abaco, tested negative from an accredited laboratory.
On Thursday, at a press conference, Health Expert and Advisor to the Prime Minister Dr. Dahl Regis said health officials were awaiting COVID-19 test results from the workers.
At the time, Regis said workers were tested, but health officials were awaiting receipt of the tests to determine its results and its validity.
Turnquest said all of the tests were taken within the required ten-day period.
Turnquest said, “They had the required documentation. The plane arrived at 5am this morning (Thursday) on our 737-700 plane which is the only plane we have that can do a four and a half flight and we had two ATR planes transport them to Abaco after they arrived in the country. We were pleased with the commercial transaction.”
