Update: The story has been updated to reflect how the victim died. It seems police have been slow in releasing information on this particular matter and there is confusion with other recent matters. The details surrounding this matter is unclear.

Friends are appalled after they learned that 19-year-old Jamesly Richemond was intentionally struck by a vehicle and later died of his injuries.

“I cry out for justice,” Arianna Johnson bewailed. “Demons roam and live among us. I’m so sorry he was robbed of his future [and] robbed of his belongings.”

Jamesly was reportedly struck and was taken to the hospital where he remained in critical condition until his demise on Tuesday.

“I had the distinct privilege to interact with him and found him to be a humble and genuine young man who was focused, respectful, and full of hope,” President of Youth Empowerment Program (YEP) Delano Munroe remembered.

Jamesly graduated from the program which mentors and assists high school students with developing skills.

Friends said robbers were after his motorcycle. After Jamesly sped off, they chased, eventually seizing the motorbike.

“First time we met, I couldn’t stop laughing and smiling at the same time…It was never a dull moment around Jamesly.[You were] ambitious and hardworking. You knew what you wanted out of life,” Tenesha Jemison lamented.

“I hurt they kill him over his own things, my God man. We have demons walking among us in flesh, who don’t care about anything but taking innocent souls.”

His former teacher Wilma Dames remembered writing a character reference for him after he graduated from C I Gibson Senior High School. “You didn’t deserve this Jamesly, my goodness man,” she mourned.

Retired police officer Alexander Laroda had seen the victim riding the motorcycle a few weeks earlier and was shocked when he learned that Jamesly was the country’s latest victim.

“A humble, quiet [and] sweet young man,” Gigi Dames too remembered.

Friends said his mother’s husband was also killed and now Jamesly has suffered the same fate.

“[He was] never a troublesome person, always humble,” Tanya Wilkson said as she reminisced on his childhood.

Just last week he posted to social media, dressed in a three-piece pink suit, “Build up a foundation you can stand on. Just grow up and be something,” he said.

He worked in the Young Kingz barbershop, where Sherece Reckly often took her son. “He was my son’s barber,” she recalled. “He was a striving, decent, and mannerly young man.”

Benzi Munroe said Jamesly was “a pure heart,” who “always wanted to learn something.”

“You were going to reach so far,” Joshea Murray said. She believed his future was bright before it was snuffed away.

“You are amazing and your family raised a great man.”
