Authorities are investigating the death of a woman on Homestead Avenue in the Englerston area on Tuesday, allegedly as a result of a domestic incident.
The woman, Theresa Knowles was found in the back of a home around 11:30 with injuries to the upper body. Police have not revealed what type of injuries she sustained but did say they are questioning a man related to her.
Her distraught sister Viola Richardson, spoke to reporters and revealed that the woman was in a relationship with the man in question for 22 years. The woman had ended the relationship and was trying to “get out.” But the pair was seen together last week which raised some eyebrows.
“I decided not to get involved,” the sister told reporters as the woman’s young son, seemingly numbed, stood beside her. He said he believed his mother was 43 years old.
“She was nice, very nice,” Richardson said.
The woman’s colleagues told the family she did not come to work. The relatives then attempted to make contact with her but to no avail, finding the victim’s white vehicle and the suspect’s black truck parked outside of the murder scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
