When Chief Superintendent Chrislyn Skippings arrived on the scene of the country’s 25th murder victim for the year, she remembered him as a 31-year-old man she spoke to nearly two weeks ago who informed her he had turned over a new leaf and accepted Jesus Christ into his life.
“I interacted with this same young man. The young man admitted that he was involved in some activities, however, he had given his life to Christ and was on the road of doing something positive,” Skippings, the police spokesperson reminisced on the crime scene off South Street and Hospital Lane.
The man, who remains unidentified by officials but recognized by friends as “Tboy”, was reportedly walking in the area around 3 pm when a man emerged from a nearby park, then shot and killed him.
The suspect, believed to be on foot, escaped in another direction.
“The young man recognized that some things he didn’t do right early in his life. He made a change, but the streets never forgave him,” Skippings rehearsed.
The man was on bail for a 2020 murder.
