The victim of the country’s latest homicide uses his final words to ask for help before requesting that bystanders call his mother.

“Help, help, help me,” he said as the blood from gunshot wounds ran down the wet street where he lay. “You’ll help me.”

The victim, police said, was driving a small Japanese vehicle when occupants of a silver Japanese vehicle pulled up alongside him and fired into his vehicle, striking him in the head and body multiple times.

A video shows that his car ran into a wall at the intersection of Village Road and Parkgate Road before it stopped. Before he dies, he opens the car door, leans over, spits and drops out of the car.

Passersby motions for him to remain still before he requested, “Call my mommy.”

“I know I ain’t ga live like this. You’ll help me dawg.”

Police said he was expected to appear in court on Monday for an upcoming homicide case.

This is the second murder for Wednesday.

Before that, another man, police believed to be in his 20s was found dead on a track road after neighbours heard gunshots in the area of Pinedale, Fox Hill.

Police discovered he was shot multiple times before a vehicle fled the scene.

These tragic incidents continue after a National Day of Prayer was advised by Prime Minister Philip Davis who asked the Bahamas Christian Council to host the event because of the alarming number of homicides since the beginning of the year.

This is the 14th murder to occur this year.
