11-Year-Old Dies in Traffic Accident

An 11-year-old girl was killed in a traffic accident in Grand Bahama on Thursday.

What is known

• Shortly after 4 pm, police called to a traffic accident on Grand Bahama Highway, east of University of the Bahamas.
• A driver of a champagne-colored GMC Yukon vehicle attempted to overtake another vehicle when it lost control of the vehicle and flipped over.
• The occupants were ejected from the vehicle. The four passengers were taken to hospital but the fifth passenger, the 11-year-old died on the scene.
•  An overturned sports utility vehicle (SUV), a grey GMC Yukon, license plate number GA9147 was seen in bushes.
• The body of the child lay covered, feet away from the overturned vehicle.
• She was unofficially identified as Sarah Rolle.
