Paul Rolle is the new commissioner of police
Outgoing Commissioner of Police Anthony Ferguson passes on leadership to the incoming Commissioner Paul Rolle in a ceremony on Wednesday, at the Paul Farquharson Center, Police Headquarters.
Rolle was sworn in as the eighth Commissioner of Police for the Bahamas.
In attendance were Prime Minister Hubert Minnis, Minister of National Security Marvin Dames and other ministers of government.
Rolle began his career as a police officer in May 1983 and was promoted to Chief Superintendent of Police in 2014.
He served at the Central Detective Unit until 2016, when he was appointed National Commandant Training and assumed responsibility for the Police Training Academy Nassau and Northern Bahamas.
The former Assistant Commissioner of Police was in charge of the Anti-Corruption Unit.
Rolle was awarded the Queen’s Police Medal in December of last year, for his contribution to the Royal Bahamas Police Force.
He succeeded Ferguson who was appointed Commissioner of Police in October 2017.
