The mother of the three brothers killed in a car crash early Monday morning is speaking out for the first time as she comes to grips with the devastating loss of all of her sons.
“The pain I feel is beyond words and I am struggling to comprehend a world without them,” Lovan Miller said in a statement.
The Christie brothers—D’Angelo, 20, D’Caprio, 23, and Philip 24, were traveling together along Sir Milo Butler Highway when their Honda Pilot hit a tree. D’Caprio and Philip died instantly while D’Angelo died in the hospital later that morning.
“They were the center of my universe,” she said. “Each brought so much love, laughter, and light into my life.
“Their absence leaves a void that can never be filled.”
The brothers moved from North Andros where they were reared, to New Providence to find employment. D’Caprio was employed at the Bahamas Power and Light while Philip worked at BPL.
Their colleagues remembered them as dedicated employees.
They were their mother’s only boys. Their father died a few years ago.
“As a mother, I never imagined I would face such tragedy, and moving forward without them feels impossible. But I know they would want me to find strength, to hold onto the love they gave so freely.”
Allyah Beneby, the brother’s cousin, described them as “honorable and respectable.”
The family is seeking monetary assistance to bury the Christie brothers.
