Health Minister on recent deaths and additional cases
Minister of Health Duane Sands revealed on Thursday afternoon, the death of two COVID19 victims.
At the COVID19 press conference, Sands said the two latest deaths are two adults– 51 and 53 year old males, which brings the total number of COVID19 deaths to 11.
The confirmed deaths are both residents of New Providence with no history of travel.
Investigations are being conducted into the details of these deaths.
Sands also revealed two new COVID19 cases for New Providence, who are in home isolation.
Case #71 is a 50 year old female with no history of travel and case #72 is a 29 year old female with no history of travel. These cases are in isolation at home.
These cases bring the total number of infected individuals in the country to 72.
There have been 7 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Grand Bahama, 61 confirmed cases in New Providence, 1 confirmed case in Cat Cay, and 3 confirmed cases on the island of Bimini.
Sands admitted that 15 of the 72 cases are healthcare workers.
