Four officers and a bus driver stood before Magistrate Roberto Reckley, accused of their involvement in the rape of an 18-year-old woman while at a party.
The incident allegedly occurred between October 5 and 6, when officers Alvin Glinton, 31, Jimmy Thurston, 31, and Earin Cash, 30, along with bus driver Jeff Joseph, 29, raped her. Another officer, Cornelius Rigby,24, was accused of abetment.
Cash is accused of raping the woman twice. The other men stand accused of one count of rape.
Rigby, an officer of four years, is facing five counts of abetment. He was released on bail and was outfitted with an ankle bracelet and required to sign in at the Elizabeth Estates Police Station twice per week, while the other men were remanded because the court could not give bail for rape.
The men would have to apply to the Supreme Court.
They will return to court on February 27, 2025, for the presentation of a voluntary bill of indictment.
