What Happened to Shenique Miller’s Sister and How Did She Die?

Veteran journalist and new host of Beyond the Headlines Shenique Miller is accusing the country’s premier health facility of negligence following the death of her sister.

Miller took to social media to blame Princess Margaret Hospital for “poor care” and the “lackluster manner” in which it administered care to Swanson Miller Bridgewater.

Here’s what Miller says happened

On Sunday

  • Bridgewater visited PMH late that afternoon, with shortness of breath and weakness.
  • She was held in the Accident and Emergency Department where she was given water to drink.

On Monday

  • She was given drips since she felt weak and dehydrated.
  • A family friend, also an employee at the hospital gave her a cup of water and tea.
  • Bridgewater was soon discharged by a nurse.
  • She called Miller for assistance, concerned that she was still not feeling well with difficulty breathing.
  • Miller called a senior official for help in the matter.
  • Bridgewater was still discharged by that night and had difficulty getting from the car to the house.
  • The hiplok used for the drip was removed from her arm.

On Tuesday

  • She continued to breathe laboriously.
  • She became painful.

On Wednesday

  • Bridgewater died.

PMH has not responded to the accusations made by Miller.

Watson’s Posturing; He’s Entitled to His Own Opinion, But Not Vaccination Facts

Clint Watson, the host of Beyond the Headlines, vehemently resisted recent comments by Prime Minister Hubert Minnis, when he stated that the country is presently in two pandemics–one for vaccinated individuals and another for non-vaccinated individuals.

Minnis was addressing the climb in COVID19 cases in the country, noting that it was worrying as the Bahamas experiences a 3rd wave of the virus.

“One thing the Bahamian populace must understand, we are in two pandemics. The vaccinated individuals are now out of the pandemic. The pandemic is finished for the vaccinated.

“The non-vaccinated are still in the pandemic. Therefore, it is essential for us to aggressively pursue vaccines so that we can vaccinate our populace as quickly and efficiently as possible so that they can move into the vaccinated portion, thus the non-pandemic,” Minnis said.

Watson, during the taping of his show, is taken aback by the comments and is heard telling producers, “Did he say the pandemic is over for the vaccinated? No, no, no. I’m sorry. Control room can you play that sound bite again, please? No, no. I heard wrong.”

With a mocking smile, Watson then goes on to say, “How did he come to that conclusion? …I’m confused.”

Why is Watson confused? The facts about the pandemic are indisputable.

Here’s how Minnis came to that conclusion.

  1. Director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Dr. Rochelle P. Walensky said the virus is targeting people who are unvaccinated.  She said, “This is becoming a pandemic of the unvaccinated” as deaths and hospitalization are among the unvaccinated people.
  2. Fully vaccinated people who may contract the virus are less likely to spread the virus to others as they have less virus in their system compared to unvaccinated people, according to Anthony Fauci, White House chief medical advisor.
  3. USA President Joe Biden, acknowledging that cases of COVID-19 have tripled over recent weeks in the US, stated on Friday, “Look, the only pandemic we have is among the unvaccinated.”

Watson, as the host of an opinionated show, is entitled to his own thoughts and feelings. However, he is not entitled to the facts, no matter how much passion he demonstrates.

How is Minnis wrong about the statement he made? Does Watson need to hear PLP ‘experts’ say so before he believes?

Does Watson need to see body counts or hospitalization statistics of the unvaccinated?

Is Watson so politically blinded that anything Minnis says he refuses to believe?

Watson is simply benighted or politically posturing for his audience.

DNA Seeks to Protect Komolafe After Infighting. Just a PR Stunt?

Executive members of the Democratic National Alliance scrambled on Monday to contain the fallout from reports that a physical altercation occurred at its latest internal meeting.

In a series of social media posts, the party members sought to quiet the tensions and praise Komolafe’s leadership as it seeks to defend the DNA’s run for the next General Election.

President of the DNA’s Women’s Alliance, Marsha Thompson said, “It is disappointing to see those persons going out there and trying to bring down our leader, a leader who would have embraced them, a leader who went beyond the call of duty in trying to encourage them… I know within my heart, that God has called this leader for such a time as this,” she said.

The party’s Vice Chairman Jeffery Deleveaux said conflict within political parties should be expected.

“…as with any party, you will have expressions of pain, hurt [and] resentment, but we also have love, understanding, and unity. The DNA party stands committed in unity behind the capable leadership of Mrs. Komolafe….

“…The party is still a young party. Growing pains [are] inevitable,” he said.

The party’s newly elected Deputy Leader Stephen Nesbitt who took the post after Buscheme Armbrister stepped down for ‘personal reasons’ stated, “ I would like to endorse Mrs. Arinthia Komolafe as the next prime minister of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. She will make the Bahamian people proud. She will be the envy of the region, and ultimately, the envy of this world.

“I have seen under her leadership, the party grow from strength to strength.”

What happened

A former lawyer and advisor to the party Fayne Thompson and DNA’s candidate for Garden Hills Boyd Smith appeared on Beyond the Headlines hosted by Clint Watson on Friday evening, to tell their side of the story after the alleged physical assault was made public.

Both men stated that they were grieved with the party’s electoral process that saw the election of Nesbitt and Derek Smith as deputy leader and chairman, respectively.

Smith said, “There were major issues with the election process. It was not transparent and in violations of the resolutions passed in a meeting on July 1st. I wanted to bring that to the essential body and that was struck to be addressed.”

Thompson said he defended Smith’s position and was subsequently attacked by the party’s Communication Director Dietrich Carroll, “who literally, physically drove me into the wall because that was his means by which he displayed his displeasure taking issue in which the meeting was going on.”

Thompson said he then told Komolafe, “Control this body.”

Smith said he began recording the physical assault with his cell phone and was asked to stop by Komolafe’s husband, Emmanuel.

Mrs Komolafe then asked for his phone which he resisted. Smith said she took it out of his pocket and threw it to the ground, destroying the device.

“I tried to escape away from her in the corner where I was by the podium. Mrs Komolafe’s right hand, Armbrister charged toward me and pushed me into a chair. I got up and was protected by the security officer in the room.

“I really believe I was not going to survive if folks weren’t there to protect me,” Smith said.

Who Is Dr. Stella Immanuel? And Why Many Oppose Her Stance For Hydroxychloroquine

Dr. Stella Immanuel shot to fame as President Donald Trump’s favourite doctor after defending use of the anti-malarial drug hydroxychloroquine, to treat the coronavirus.

Dr. Immanuel has become a favourite of Trump after promoting the controversial drug, announcing in a video that she treated nearly 350 infected people with the drug and has seen them totally cured of the virus.

Her position has caught the attention of many Bahamians, after local health officials opposed use of the drug after the death of 14 people as result of the virus. And, as the COVID-19 cases continue to rise daily in the country, focus has returned to use of the drug to assist those affected with the virus.

Standing with other doctors, appearing in Washington, D.C. to lobby Congress at a press conference run by right winged Tea Party Patriots, she along with a group of doctors contested the scientific findings of the controversial pill.

Dr. Immanuel condemned “fake doctors,” stating, “I want to know who’s conducted that study and who’s behind it. Because there is no way I have treat 350 patients and counting and nobody is dead.”

She emphasized that there is no need for masks if doctors treat patients with hydroxychloroquine, zinc, and the antibiotic zithromax.

Trump, a promoter and user of the drug retweeted the video, but it has since been removed by Facebook, YouTube and Twitter for “containing false and dangerous information,” since doctors say it is lethal and is ineffective at saving lives.

Donald Trump Jr, also impressed by Immanuela’s speech, touted the video on Twitter, as ‘a must-watch’.

Dr. Immanuel, though criticized for her stance, remains resolute. In a tweet, she lambaste White House coronavirus adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci. “Fauci you are lying. Americans are dying and you are playing Russian roulette with their lives.”

The deliverance preacher is the pastor of Fire Power Ministries in Houston Texas, which is next door to her clinic.  She was born in Cameroon and is reported to have trained in Nigeria between 1984 and 1990, according to a Nigerian daily, PM News.

The 55-year-old mother of three daughters is said to have trained in Alexandria, Louisiana in 1998 as a pediatrician. And she works  as a physician at the Rehoboth Medical Center in Katy, just west of Houston, Texas, since October 2019.

She received a medical license in Texas eight months ago, in November, according to state records.

On her church’s Facebook page, Dr. Immanuel describes her church as ‘a deliverance, prayer and spiritual warfare ministry’ and describes herself on Twitter as ‘physician, author, speaker, entrepreneur, deliverance minister, God’s battle axe and weapon of war.’

In a video posted in July, Dr. Immanuel preaches about breaking covenant, curses and soul ties. She encourages her congregation to pray covenant breaking prayers, “Whom ever you sleep with, you form covenant with,” she said.

In a video posted in 2013,  she speaks about deliverance from ‘spirit husbands and spirit wives,’ in which she claims mardi gras, sexy clothing, rings, congregants sitting under homosexual pastors, and women wearing pants and praying without head coverings, give access for  evil spirits to enter a person.

In response to the controversial video about ‘spirit husbands and spirit wives,’ in which she has been highly criticized, Dr. Immanuel says in a tweet, “Yes America! Some need deliverance from demon sperm.”

She told the Daily Beast, “If you need deliverance from these spirits, contact us.”

Despite the criticisms levied against her, Dr. Immanuel has not backed down. Instead, she thanked mainstream media for promoting her ministry which she says are “free commercials.”

“Woah CNN, MSNBC etc are doing free commercials on our deliverance ministry. Fire Power is main stream. Thank you CNN and let me know me know when y’all need some of them demons cast out of you. I will gladly oblige. You will feel a lot better. Keep up the good work,” she tweeted.

Dr. Immanuel appears on a local television broadcast, Beyond the Headlines, on Tuesday at 8pm.
