Five men lost their lives in separate traffic accidents over the weekend

The latest traffic accident occurred early Monday morning around 2 am, along Sir Milo Butler Highway when a Honda Passport lost control and hit a tree.
Fire Services used the Jaws of Life to extricate the individuals. The driver and front-seat passenger were pronounced deceased at the scene despite rescue efforts. The third victim, the back seat passenger, remained in serious condition in hospital but later died of his injuries.
On Sunday afternoon, around 2 pm, a motorcyclist died when his cycle, a blue and black Yamaha Ray ZR ran into a white Chevrolet Equinox, traveling east on Prince Charles Drive in an attempt to turn south onto College Gardens Road
The motorcyclist succumbed on the scene.


Early Saturday morning around 4:30 am on New Providence Highway, the front passenger of a Ford Escape was killed when the vehicle he occupied, collided with a Dodge Ram truck.
The Dodge Ram reportedly attempted to overtake other northbound vehicles, only to collide with the oncoming truck.
The occupants of both vehicles sustained injuries, with two adult males in the Dodge Ram reporting chest and head pain, and were transported to the hospital in a private car.
Chief Superintendent Eugene Strachan, the officer in charge of the traffic division, urged drivers to exercise caution and respect for fellow road users.
