As cleaning products fly off store shelves, another cleaning product has been identified to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
In a press statement, Clorox Company, the manufacturer of the product says Pine-Sol® Original Multi-Surface Cleaner was proven to be effective “after third-party laboratory testing proved the disinfectant’s efficacy against the virus with a 10-minute contact time on hard non-porous surfaces.”
Vice President and General Manager of the Cleaning division, at Clorox Company Chris Hyder said it is hoped “this new Pine-Sol® kill claim will increase access to disinfectants that can help prevent the spread of COVID19.”
Who are the largest users of Pine-Sol® Original Multi-Surface Cleaner?
Clorox Company says the black community is its largest consumers of the product.
The company says its research suggests that three in five (58%) of Black American millennial women are essential workers amid the global pandemic.
The company says of these essential workers, 58% say the pandemic has made them concerned about their own health, and 57% worried about the health of their family and friends.
Two in five (40%) Black American millennial women are concerned about access to necessary cleaning products, 67% are concerned about keeping their family safe, 64% are concerned about keeping themselves safe.
How to use Pine-Sol® Original Multi-Surface Cleaner
The company says use the product to disinfect commonly used surfaces throughout your home.
- Apply the Pine-Sol® Original Multi-Surface Cleaner full-strength with a clean sponge or cloth on hard, nonporous surfaces.
- Wet surface, let stand 10 minutes, and then
rinse. - For heavily soiled surfaces, precleaning to remove excess dirt first is required.
