A group of four in Abaco is celebrating after their plane crashed in waters of Treasure Cay, Abaco soon after take-off.

The Piper PA32 Cherokee Six crashed in a swamp, but the pilot and passengers survived unharmed.

The group included two pastors, a daughter of one of the pastors and a medical student on their way to Nassau.

The pastor who piloted the plane said after take-off from the airport, the plane experienced difficulty gaining altitude.

“After take-off, we cleared the altitude but I observed that we were not climbing. We lost engine pressure.

“We were able to put the plane in the swamp,” he said.

Standing on the wing of the crashed plane, the pastor credited God for saving the group. He said they prayed to God for safety during the unfortunate flight.

“God ordered our steps,” he said.

The group awaited help from BASRA.

Investigations into the crash continues.
