Isaias remains a Category 1 hurricane with winds of 75 mph. Forecasters say it is moving NW at 15 mph and the center is currently about 195 miles SSE of Nassau, Bahamas.

Heavy and tropical storm conditions are spreading over the central Bahamas.

The hurricane knocked shingles off roofs in the island of San Salvador as it made its way through the Bahamas

Bahamas Power and Light Company warned it would cut power in flood-prone areas, for safety starting Friday night, if winds exceed 40 miles per hour.

National Hurricane Center forecasters say that a generally northwestward motion with some decrease in forward speed is expected through Sunday day followed by a turn toward the north-northwest late Sunday.

On the NHC forecast track, the center of Isaias will continue to move near or over the Southeastern Bahamas this afternoon and evening.

Isaias is forecast to be near the Central Bahamas Friday night, and move near or over the Northwestern Bahamas Saturday and near the east coast of the Florida peninsula Saturday afternoon through Sunday.
