‘Your heart was so big and pure’: Loved ones mourn man killed in family dispute

Friends expressed utter shock when it was revealed that Allan A’Travis Pratt was one of two men who died in a domestic dispute on Tuesday.

“It’s so surreal,” Keesha Johnson , a friend of the victim lamented in a social media post. “You brought so much life to us all…Never a dull moment.”

Pratt, nicknamed “Bobo” was chopped to the neck with a cutlass by a brother-in-law later identified by police as Renaldo Bowleg, 42, while at their Mutton Fish Drive residence, and died later in hospital, police said.

When police, prompted by a dispute, arrived at the residence, they met the 38-year-old man on the outside with a wound to the neck.

They soon found another man lying lifeless in the front room of the house.

Pratt reportedly descended from Long Island.

Shavado Gibson said, “I remember your unforgettable laugh growing up.”

Andrea Coleby, a friend, remembers him as “most fun and loveable person you could ever meet.”

Jacqueline Knowles described him as “one of Long Island’s most humble, positive young men.”

Police have not revealed a motive for the killings. But the deaths could push the murder count to 104 for the year. Police must now determine what role self-defense played in the unfortunate incident.

“You didn’t deserve what happened to you,” a cousin Krystal Hepburn said. “Your heart so big and pure…You were gentle but also a protector and a hardworker.”

Pratt was often referred to as ‘Chef Bobo,’ because he loved to cook.

“How can you be taken in such a manner that was not fitting for who you were in my eyes?” Hepburn asked.

Authorities are investigating the incident.

‘The sweetest soul’: 4th murder victim identified as Chatere Wells, 27

When friends and family learnt that 23-year-old Chatere Wells was also a victim of the country’s latest homicide incident, they were in disbelief.

“You were the sweetest person ever,” friend Ashley Vandisha lamented.

Wells, an entrepreneur of a nail parlour, was killed along with her friend Dion Smith as they travelled along Prince Charles Drive. Police said three gunmen exited a gold Nissan vehicle around noon and killed the couple.

Wells was a passenger in their silver Cube Nissan when Smith, 30 who celebrated his birthday on Wednesday, drove the main thoroughfare.

“To know you was to love you bad, girl. I won’t and can’t believe it,” Vandisha vented.

Wells, nicknamed ‘Madam Envy’, an homage to her business, was known for her “hearty laughs and jokes.”

Friend Shar said her humour and personality were unforgettable.

Wells graduated from Doris Johnson High School in 2014 and celebrated her birthday on December 5. In a social media post, she celebrated her journey.

“This here is 27 years of growing, learning and embracing loving on me. Opening a new chapter of life, optimistic yet hopeful that this one will be one of the best years to come.”

Hoping to enjoy another year, she stated, “This new age will be even better with bigger blessings and happiness.” However, her tragic death abruptly ended the future she envisioned.

Friend Shandera Missick said she was “always one way all the time.”

Another friend Diaa Love said she was her confidant.

“She always pushed me to strive and reach my goals. This is who I vented to when my world was upside down. She was more than a friend. She was my sister.”

Wells and Smith are the third and fourth murder victims for the new year.

“I don’t even have words to describe this pain,” Kristanique Rolle cried. “My heart hurts.”
