Ministry of Health thankful for test kits in fight against COVID19
The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China has donated one thousand test kits to assist the Government of the Bahamas with confirmation of suspected COVID-19 cases.
In a press statement, the Ministry of Health thanked the embassy for its donation “at a time when COVID-19 threatens the entire world” for “this valued and very practical donation.”
The statement goes on to say, “These tests kits will go a long way to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the Bahamas. As an invaluable friend and partner, the Bahamas looks forward to continued cooperation and collaboration with the People’s Republic of China.”
The Bahamas has entered into a diplomatic relation with the People’s Republic of China for almost 23 years, with the Chinese embassy having assisted the Bahamas in areas of education, infrastructure, technical assistance and medical information and supplies to assist Bahamian citizens and the economy.
